IV. The Municipality of Godów
The Municipality of Godów is located in the south-western part of the Province of Silesia. It has borders with the Czech Republic, the cities of Jastrzębie Zdrój and Wodzisław ¦l±ski and the Municipalities of Mszana and Gorzyce. There are seven village districts: Godów, Gołkowice, Skrzyszów, Łaziska, Krostoszowice, Podbucze and Skrbeńsko. There are 12,000 inhabitants. There is a Gołkowice-Zawada border crossing for the citizens of Poland and the Czech Republic. The location at the boarder emphasizes trade and servicing activity. The local authorities take care of technical infrastructure:
- There are complete water and gas pipelines,
- Well developed teletechnical network,
- There are plots with and without infrastructure for trade, industrial and individual building,
- There are important communication routes in the municipality with a modern boarder crossing,
- Construction of the sewage system has started, which will significantly improve ecologic conditions,
- The cultural activity is well developed ( well organized cultural centers are active in every town),
- There good conditions for relax and recreation: fishing, mushroom picking, sports activities - football, tennis.
