III. The town of Jastrzębie Zdrój
The young city of 100,000 inhabitants ( the civil rights granted in 1963) located in the southern part of the Province of Silesia, at the foot of Beskidy Mountains. It has well developed infrastructure, good communication in the city and with main cities of the Upper Silesia and the Silesian Beskidy resorts. The city has a convenient access to No. 81 Warsaw-Katowice-Wisła highway and border crossings with the Czech Republic. Within coming few years the city will be connected with A1 North-South motorway that is currently under construction. Jastrzębie Zdrój is an important mining center. Currently, the mining industry still prevails in the economic structure of the city in spite of the undertake restructuring process. The city is engaged in creation of conditions for the economic development designing 25% of the budget for the investment, which gives the city the leading position among Polish cities of hundred thousand inhabitants. The city's Developmental Strategy by 2010 refers to four strategic fields:
1. Communication network
2. Education and social integration
3. Functions and service centers
4. Entrepreneurship and investors
Within the city there is the land (of the total area: over 37 ha) managed by the Katowice Special Economic Zone Co. The land for investment consists of: the Pole Moszczenica site (9.4736 ha), the Pole Bzie site (20.8724 ha), the Ruptawa 1 and 2 (6.7688 ha).
