The investment area I. The town of Żory The city is granted the rights of the district city (civil rights granted in 1272), is located in the southern part of the Province of Silesia, close to the boarder with the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic and at the edge of the attractive recreational area of the Beskid ¦l±ski and Żywiecki. It is located at the important communication routes: close to A4 international road linking the East with the West and at the planned A1 motorway liking the South with the North. In Żory there are 65,000 inhabitants; every third inhabitant is younger than 18. The city takes care of its development. The local economy is based on the industry, with currently prevailing private sector. The craft, trade and service companies develop successfully. The free area will be designed for investments in industry, housing construction and recreation. The area managed by the Katowice Special Economic Zone (the Pole Warszowice site and the Pole Wygoda site)enable favorable developmental conditions, thanks to:
