The economic potential
In Sosnowiec the tradition of the industrial culture is linked with the modern
and high technology. The mining sector has lost its leading role, as the result
of the industrial restructuring.
The city economy has the service and manufacturing character. The following
industrial branches are prevailing: machine, electro technical, car accessories,
light industry, food and metallurgy. In the local market there are nearly 25,000
companies, over 192 are foreign capital; among them there are: Foster Wheeler
